THE QUALITY OBSERVATORY OF THE TENERIFE ISLAND AUTHORITY

The Tenerife Quality Observatory is an initiative of the Tenerife Island Authority which is designed to promote the study, analysis and evolution of the new trends and models of quality management in the national and international sphere, aimed especially at monitoring and encouraging the implementation of quality in Tenerife.

The Observatory is the ideal platform of the Tenerife Island Authority for promoting the application of the Project Innovation and Development Management Quality Plan, through the Island Centre for Quality and Responsible Consumption, whose aim is to encourage and improve business competition.

SGS certifying body

Created in 1878, SGS transformed the grain trade in Europe by offering innovative services of agricultural inspection. It was quoted for the first time on the Zürich Stock Exchange (SIX) in 1985.   Since 2001, SGS has had a single class of shares, consisting of registered shares.

The current structure of SGS was created in 2001 and consists of 10 business segments operating in ten geographical regions. Since our beginnings, in 1878, as an inspectorate for grain, we have been in constant growth to become the leaders in our sector. We have achieved this through continual improvement and innovation in support of the operations of our customers, reducing risks and improving productivity.
